Test your web space by using FTP |
|

|
After you login, create a new folder, name it public_html. |

Or, you can use a ftp client such as SSH – download from CTI resources: http://www.cs.depaul.edu/resources/ - look on the right in the “Computing Resources” box. |

You can change your webspace password by following:
1. Click on the start menu. Select, 'Run'. Type the following in the open box,
telnet students.depaul.edu
Log into your account with your username and current password
2. Type the letters passwd and press enter on your keyboard.
3. Next, type your current password and press enter.
4. Type the letter P and press enter. This will allow you to choose your own password.
5. Type your new password. The password must contain 7 characters beginning with a letter and must contain at least one number.
6. After typing your password, press enter and retype your password. Press enter and you should see the message Passwd successfully changed.

To upload your web documents, just drag and drop your local files to the public_html folder. |

Note: If you type your password wrong for 3 times, your web account will be disabled even you can still access your email. The only way to have it reactive is go to ID service in person and have the superviser active for you. |

Submit all your homeworks via COL. Please just submit me the URL (address) to your pages. DO NOT submit any webPage files (html/htm) or picture files etc, none at all! |

Check the link, make sure it's working. |

Grading: |
|
Homeworks will be graded on how well they meet requirements. Specific consideration will be given to the use of color, content, and design of the site. |
|
A file naming scheme that is different from the one specified will suffer a 5% drop in grade. |
|
Assignments that are turned in late without prior arrangement will suffer a 10% drop in earned grade for every day they are late. Assignments that are more than 4 days late will not be accepted, and a grade of F will be assigned. |
